International Welcome Activities 2018/19
Alongside the main University enrolment activities and induction events, which will be running from Friday 21st September to Friday 28th September 2018, there will be a special International Welcome Day.
The International Welcome Day (IWD) for the 2018/19 intake will be on Sunday 23rd September. The IWD is completely FREE and the programme for the day will be released closer to the time. You should know that it will include information sessions as well as lots of fun activities to help you integrate with your new colleagues and make friends. There will also be the chance to meet support staff, some of our Community members, book bank account appointments and to find out about Volunteering opportunities that are available to you.
Sometimes it is easy to forget how important meeting people and feeling a sense of community in your environment can be. The IWD has been specially arranged to give you space and time to make sure that you are making those human connections- which will in turn make your whole UK experience easier and more fulfilling. Happy students are successful students and you owe yourself the chance to do as well as you can here with us in Wales!
There will also be an International Welcome Dinner held at 6.30pm on Thursday 4th October at the Refectory in Fulton House. Tickets for that will be just £1 and this includes a buffet meal and a Welsh Twmpath led by famous Welsh Folk Band Calennig. You can also expect to be formally welcomed to the Swansea by the University Vice Chacellor and can meet the Lord Mayor of the City and County of Swansea- what a great photo that will be to send home to your family! It's a fantastic night not to be missed and tickets will be available during the main arrival period.
