Expert advice

With over 50 years' combined experience of providing Higher Education guidance to the UK’s Schools and Colleges, Swansea University’s Student Recruitment team is one of the UK’s most proactive in helping prepare prospective students for the challenges, realities and benefi ts of university life. The team enjoys a national reputation, provides INSET teacher training and is regularly invited to comment on issues ranging from student finance to choosing the right university course.

All of our services can be arranged to fit in with School or College timetables, or evening events for parents. All services delivered in Schools and Colleges are offered free of charge. There may be charges for residential activities on campus to cover accommodation and catering. Please contact us to discuss these.

Visits, Conferences and Events

Swansea University Singleton Abbey
  • Campus visits for students (day or residential*) incorporating informative presentations, student-led campus tours and visits to academic departments
  • Campus visits and conferences* for teachers and career advisors
  • Open Day visits for school/college groups
  • Attendance at school/college careers and HE conventions
  • Sixth form inductions (day or residential*)
All services are offered free of charge, with the exception of those marked "*", where accommodation and catering charges may apply.

Interactive Workshops

We offer a selection of interactive workshops that allow students to participate in a range of engaging and relevant activities. These tend to be longer sessions than the presentations and include a mixture of talks, group and individual activities. All hand-outs and materials are provided. These sessions are run by a team of staff and Senior Student Ambassadors.

Workshop topics include:

  • Thinking about University - aimed at years 9 and 10, but can be tailored for any age audience
