Mass Spectrometry

The Centre for Mass Spectrometry (CMS) was established within the ILS in 2007. Bringing together existing mass spectrometry expertise, including seven members of staff at the EPSRC National Mass Spectrometry Service Centre (EPSRC NMSSC), this strategic development facilitates interdisciplinary research within the ILS.

CMS undertakes high throughput proteomic studies, high resolution mass determination, structural elucidation, analysis of nucleic acid and other non-protein macromolecules, metabolomic and small molecule analysis, and identification/ quantitation of post-translational modifications.

For further information on the research carried out in this area, please visit the Institute of Mass Spectrometry.
