Humanities Admissions Information

The School of Humanities offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate Degree Programmes and gives a warm welcome to EU, International and UK prospective students. The School is committed to supporting Education Events in the UK and Overseas.

The School of Humanities is committed to supporting Education events and fairs held in the UK and Overseas.  The Swansea University Student Recruitment Office hold open days for Undergraduate and Graduate students and staff from Departments in the School are available to answer any queries or provide full information on  a wide choice of courses and programs. 

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENTS
The Departments of American Studies, History and Politics and International Relations in the School of Humanities have Memorandum of Agreements for students from the Japan College of Foreign Language in Tokyo and Osaka College of Foreign Language in Osaka to study at Swansea.  For Japanese translation of School of Humanities modules please review the Japanese School Catalogue of Modules and have a look at  Ayaki Omura, Japanese Student Testimonial

STUDY ABROAD
Undergraduate students studying Single Honours and Joint Honours (combined subjects) degrees in American Studies have the option of studying at a University in the United States for a full year during the third year of study.  Undergraduate students studying Humanities with a European language will spend the third year of study in Europe to develop their language skills.  Undergraduate students in Humanities have the option of studying for the spring semester in the second year at Mary Washington University, Virginia, USA.  Undergraduate students studying History and Politics and International Relations have the option of studying for the Autumn semester in the second year at a University in either Austria, Italy, France, Germany, Netherlands or Spain.

EXCHANGE AGREEMENTS
Undergraduate students in Politics and International Relations at Swansea and students from City University, Hong Kong have the option of an exchange agreement for the Spring semester in the second year. Information for Students from City University, Hong Kong

COMMUNITY STUDY PROJECTS
Undergraduate students studying Politics or PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) have the option of an internship with the Welsh Assembly Government.   View the weblink to see Jo Edwards talking about studying at the Welsh Assembly.  Undergraduate students studying Ancient History or Egyptology have access to study archaeological objcts from the Wellcome Collection of Egyptian antiquities house at the University's Egypt Centre.   MA students studying Maritime and Imperial History will take part in  a practical skills-based group project drawing extensively upon the resources, skills and expertise of the much-acclaimed National Waterfront Museum in Swansea.
