Lisa Whitley, BSc Audiology
What was your situation before you entered the clearing process?
“I took an interest in audiology and changed a couple of my choices to study this at Manchester and UCL. Whilst looking online the week before results day, I realised that Swansea taught audiology and really wanted to go there! I have family in Swansea, so I knew what a lovely place it was. I’d also read that at Swansea, you got a lot more practical experience than at other universities.
How did you find the clearing process?
“I found the clearing process really easy, although it was stressful because it was such a rush. I called Barry (who is now my personal tutor) on results day and he said I could come up to the University that day for an interview. My interview went well and he offered me a place there and then. He was so helpful with all aspects of coming to uni, including student finance and helping me to arrange accommodation.
What’s been your highlight whilst studying at Swansea University?
“I really enjoy the small classes that we have. There are only eight of us and we are all really close. It's much better for learning. I absolutely love Swansea. Going to uni here was the best thing I've ever done! The nightlife is amazing, shopping is good and the Gower is beautiful. Also considering I had planned on living in London for university, Swansea is so much cheaper, and it's saved me a lot of money!”
