There are a wide variety of opportunities for international students in health, nursing, midwifery, social care and psychology, at the College of Human and Health Sciences, at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level.

We are the largest academic college at Swansea University with over 4000 students from around the globe. We attract students internationally from America, Brazil, Canada, China, Ethiopia, India, Jordan, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Zimbabwe.

Our mission is to conduct high quality international research achieving high ratings in the research excellence framework; deliver high quality educational programmes, and contribute to a highly qualified health and social care workforce that meets the needs of people across the globe.

About us and our research excellence

 Swansea University has achieved its ambition to be a top 30 research University, soaring up the league table to 26th for research quality in the UK as part of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014.

  • “The biggest leap amongst research-intensive institutions”, says Times Higher Education.
  • 22nd in the UK for research impact
  • In the top 20 for 7 subjects including Social Work, Social Policy and Nursing.
  • 90% of Swansea research was judged to be internationally excellent in its impact, demonstrating our contribution to the city region, the Welsh economy, and internationally.
  • In The Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 we were one of only four psychology departments in the UK to achieve a 100% 4* rating (maximum score possible) for the reach and significance of its work. In REF 2014, 44% of our submission was graded as 4* (the highest possible grading). Based on this measure we are ranked 14th (out of 82) in the UK.
