Why did you choose to study at Swansea University?
With its serene atmosphere and scenic surroundings, Swansea the ideal place to study my Bachelor degree. Most notably the people were extremely welcoming and friendly, which made adapting to my new life here very easy and memorable. In particular, the International Student Department provided me with great support and guidance in ensuring I achieved the best from my personal experience and development whilst studying at Swansea University.
Can you tell us about your course?
I have always had a great fascination and interest in Psychology - it is a way of understanding myself and others, and offers different perspectives of analysing and interpreting society.
During the first year of my course, I really appreciated the support and encouragement from the lecturers and tutors. They gave me essential and professional advice, on how to structure and improve my academic writing skills. Being an International student this was especially useful for me as it significantly strengthened my written communication and filled me with confidence in my command of the English language.
What part of the course do you/did you enjoy the most?
I found all of my modules extremely enjoyable, especially those that related to Clinical Psychology.
What’s been your highlight whilst studying at Swansea University?
I found great meaning and happiness in being a part of the University community through attending and participating in a range of events, held by a number of the Student Union Societies.
I would also to like mention the Careers Department who helped me secure a part-time job during my studies, and organised talks by various companies to help me better plan for my future career path.
What are your plans/hopes for the future?
I hope to further continue my studies with the aim of achieving a role in sectors relating to Mental Health and Social Care.
How will your studies help you pursue your chosen profession?
My previous studies can help me enhance my knowledge (i.e. data analysis) and skills (i.e. communication skill), in order to pursue my chosen profession.
Would you recommend Swansea University to other students?
I would definitely recommend Swansea University to other students as the staff are very friendly and provided me with great support and guidance during my studies.
