The following Colloquia & Research Seminars took place during the Session 2007 2008
*May 2008. Dr Rhian Davies, of the University of Sheffield, spoke on the subject of 'La Espana Moderna and its relationship to Latin America'.
*May 2008. Dr Scott Soo, of the University of Southampton, spoke on the subject of 'Moving Memories' and the Spanish Republican Exiles in South-west France.
*February 2008. Professor Phil Swanson, of the University of Sheffield, spoke on the subject of his current research: 'Where is Latin America?'.

*Departmental research day on Tuesday 16 January, in KH 131, (9:30 a.m. start) when Swansea colleagues presented the following papers:

Professor Geoffrey Ribbans (Brown University), whom we all know as a specialist on early twentieth-century poetry and on Catalan poetry; talked about: 'Creative Tensions between Art and Life in the Poetry of Antonio Machado'
*Thursday 15 February at 4 p.m. KH 431 Maria Fernández (Swansea University), 'Computer Assisted Translation with Particular Reference to Formulaic Language’
*Wednesday 7 March at 4 p.m. KH130 Sally-Ann Kitts (University of Bristol), 'Moratín’s El sí de las niñas’
