The Rt. Hon. The Baroness Hale of Richmond DBE

Baroness HaleBaroness Hale was made a Queen’s Counsel in 1989 and has achieved numerous distinctions throughout her career including, in 1999, being appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal, following Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss to become only the second woman to be appointed to the Court of Appeal. She has been a trustee of the Nuffield Foundation, and a driving force behind the development of research on child protection, family law and civil justice.  She is founder and President of the UK Association of Women Judges and from 2010 to 2012 was President of the International Association of Women Judges. Baroness Hale offers continual support to Swansea University’s Wales Observatory on Human Rights of Children and Young People.
