Dr Geraint Owen receives outstanding teaching award

Congratulations to Geraint, Associate Professor in Geography/Geology, who has won the Excellence in Learning and Teaching Award for the second time.

Students highlighted his passion and enthusiasm for the subject; what an engaging lecturer he is, how he obviously wants his students to achieve their best and the many efforts he makes to ensure that happens. Nominations described him as “fantastic” a number of times.

Welsh-medium provision for students

Our Geography courses will prepare students for a rewarding career in a wide range of areas within the public and private sectors. Geography graduates typically find employment in the fields of the road and transport systems, statistics, surveying, exploration, film and documentary production, charity work, journalism and academic research. The ability to communicate scientific topics through the medium of Welsh is a key skill required by increasing numbers of employers, and Swansea University is perfectly situated to take advantage of this.
