Welcome to the Department of Geography at Swansea University

We aim to be one of the foremost international centres for research in human and physical geography, and to provide our students with excellent teaching in a friendly atmosphere.

Our students voted us the "Best Student Experience" in the UK. We take pride in offering our undergraduate students intellectually exciting Geography courses, and a great campus life in a vibrant city by the sea.

In the latest UK Research Assessment Exercise, 95% of Swansea's research in Geography was judged to be of international quality, and 60% was regarded as world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*).

We host a large community of postgraduate researchers studying for PhD degrees, and run one-year postgraduate MSc courses in Environmental Dynamics & Climatic Change and Migration & International Development, and an MA course in Human Geography.
