Eirwen Hopkins - Project Director
Eirwen graduated from SwanseaUniversity, and has rich experience as actor, writer, director and producer in mainstream and community theatre, theatre in education and television. She has also worked as a teacher & lecturer, and works in English and Welsh.
Consultants to Choice
Greg Cullen is a multi-award-winning playwright and director. His many theatre credits include 'Taken Out', part of a Sony Award-winning series for BBC Wales. In 1989 'Frida and Diego - A Love Story', which won a Fringe First at the Edinburgh Festival. He founded the groundbreaking Mid Powys Youth Theatre in 1987, writing and directing multi-award winning productions such as 'Mary Morgan', 'Raging Angel's, and 'Tarzanne', appearing at the Royal National Theatre on two occasions. Greg was awarded the Promotion Wales Award for making an outstanding contribution to the lives of young people in Wales. In 2012 his production ‘Muscle’ won the Angel Award at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Greg has led two major projects for Choice, including the founding project, and the 2013 film project ‘Putting People in their Place’ and continues to advise and support the work.
Martin Cope M.Sc.
Martin is Director of Hiraeth Services Ltd., a UK-wide organisation providing Therapy, Education, Training and Consultancy. He is a member of the Executive Board of Therapy Advisors and Specialist Arts Therapies Advisor to the Welsh Government. Martin has published a number of scientific articles and chapters and has been Consultant Dramatherapist to the Choice Project since 2011.
Iona Towler-Evans M.Phil
Originally from Carmarthen, Iona Towler-Evans is a freelance teacher and consultant in education, particularly the use of Heathcote drama systems in the mainstream curriculum. She is one of seven national trainers for the Mantle of the Expert teaching system, and teaches at NewmanUniversity in Birmingham. She is on the National Working Group on Mantle of the Expert and contributes regularly to conferences on creativity. She has been a Consultant to the Choice Project since 2010.
Glenys Evans - Drama Specialist
Actor, director lecturer and distinguished playwright, Glenys is a founder member of Hijinks Theatre, a Cardiff company specialising in theatre for those with learning disabilities. She is a lecturer, trainer and facilitator specialising in drama with people who may have a learning disability or difficulty, and is also a Touch Trust practitioner. She has been a Consultant to the Choice Project since its inception in 2010.
