One of the eight projects undertaken over the last three years by the Choice Project, based in the Social Geography Department, working in partnership with Shock n Awe Performance Company with young people who are for some reason at risk of exclusion, to deepen their engagement with education and training. It was funded from the Arts Council of Wales and the ESF “Reach the Heights” initiative.

Multi-award-winning playwright and director Greg Cullen led workshops in Swansea, Cardiff, Abergavenny, Caernarfon, Ammanford and Mold. Each group of young people was challenged to make a film in a week with the starting point of their immediate environment and the people who inhabit it.

The results speak for themselves; the nine remarkable films were launched in the SeneddBuilding on the 7th November. They are all different, have beauty and significance, and have attracted attention throughout Wales and beyond.
