Following its creation in 2007 as a result of a number of NAO Recommendations and Procurement Fitness Checks, the Procurement Unit has to date achieved the following:

• Common Policies & Procedures
  Outlining approved practice for various Purchasing and Procurement activities including a joint Sustainable Procurement Policy
• Common Terms & Conditions of Contract
• Joint Tenders and Contracts
• Purchasing Cards
  In operation for large volume, small value purchases
• Savings
  Cost savings in addition to added value benefits
• Sustainable Procurement Assessment  Framework
  This self assessment exercise is a benchmark of institutions’ Sustainability and Environmental achievements against other HE and public sector bodies. The institutions have completed their own individual action plans for future objectives.
• Training
  This has included operational training in addition to professional courses. 

The three institutions feel that greater efficiencies have been gained by working in collaboration, and that the above achievements are a mark of the success of the arrangement. With this in mind, University of Wales Trinity St David, Swansea University and Swansea Metropolitan are aiming to continue the partnership going forward.
