Welcome to Swansea University’s festival of research

Swansea University is leading the way in many innovative and ground-breaking research advances.

Come along to the 3rd annual festival of research and learn more about the exciting research taking place on your doorstep. You can help shape future research by discussing and debating the latest topics and global concerns with leading academics and researchers through stimulating and creative free-to-the-public lectures, talks and events.

Amongst this year’s highlights will be Professor David Bewley-Taylor, debating issues of global drug policies; Professor Nuria Lorenzo Dus and Dr Cristina Izura who have brought together expertise in cognitive psychology and linguistics to develop a communicative profile of online sexual predators; Professor Frances Rapport advocating that poetry offers readers and listeners privileged access to Holocaust survivor testimonials and Dr Richard Johnston who will reveal how science and engineering can explain the super powers of many a MARVEL Super Hero.

It’s your planet, your society, your history, your culture and this is your opportunity to broaden your understanding, question current thinking and actively contribute to some of the world’s most thought-provoking issues.

We look forward to welcoming and meeting you at this year’s Festival.
