For International Women's Day this year we will be celebrating our research success.

On Wednesday 9th March staff and students are invited to attend topical talks and workshops on current research. In the afternoon we have invited Sarah Powell, Chief Executive Sport Wales, Tracey Williamson, Associate Director ARUP and Head of Collge Professor Steve Brown to talk about their research.

Soapbox Science Event

This year women in the STEMM disciplines: science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine, will be getting on their soapboxes to talk their research and development activities.

Drs Karin Ennser, Jenny Baker, Rachel Woods and Natalie DeMello are the co-organisers for Soapbox Science (College of Engineering).

Women in Engineering Seminar

Professor Tom Welton

Guest Speaker Professor Tom Welton, Head of Chemistry at Imperial College London came to visit the College of Engineering on the 20th February 2015. 

The seminar highlighted the benefit of ensuring gender balance in the work place for the STEMM subjects in higher education and research. 

The College of Engineering is currently working towards its Bronze Award submission.  This seminar falls within the committed action plan by the college to raise awareness and promote culture change.
