Engineering Scholarships available

Engineering Bright Futures International Scholarships

Key Information

The College of Engineering is committed to celebrating the internationalisation of our learning and research environment, and is proud of our international students and staff. We have students from over 70 countries, and a very international faculty of staff from all corners of the world, and are dedicated to investing in the futures of our students.

To recognise and enhance this, we are awarding Scholarships of £2000 to international undergraduate and taught postgraduate students who will begin their studies in 2017 for all Engineering and Sport & Exercise Science students.

Recipients will be awarded the role of International Ambassador, and be expected to act on behalf of the College of Engineering and represent the College to students, applicants, institutions and partners in recruitment and marketing activities as appropriate.

Eligibility

You must be a non-EU student and have, or expect to achieve, excellent academic grades to this point.

You must hold an offer to study on an eligible undergraduate or taught postgraduate course at Swansea University from September 2017.

Materials Engineering Undergraduate Bursary

Key Information

The College of Engineering has a strong history and tradition of producing excellent Materials engineering graduates, and has very long strong links with industry in this field.

As such, we are delighted to offer entrance scholarships of between £500 and £1500 to new Materials Engineering undergraduate students, dependent on entry grades.

Eligibility

You must be admitted to Year 1 of the undergraduate Materials Engineering course at Swansea University from September 2017.

As well as A Level qualifications, A Level equivalents are accepted.

How to Apply

Application is not necessary, bursaries are awarded automatically by the Portfolio Director following enrolment.

Women in Engineering & Sports Science Undergraduate Bursary

Key Information

The College of Engineering was awarded an Athena SWAN Bronze Award in October 2016 due to our commitment to advancing women’s careers in STEMM academia and working towards gender balance in the workplace in STEMM industries.

To enhance and support opportunities to advance the careers of women in STEMM, and to celebrate the start of a bright future at the College of Engineering for new female students, we are awarding eight bursaries of £250 to females enrolling on all undergraduate Engineering and Sport & Exercise programmes.

Eligibility

You must be female, a UK/EU student, and hold an offer to study on a College of Engineering undergraduate course at Swansea University from September 2017.

How to Apply

Please submit an essay (500 words maximum) with the title 'What challenge do Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics face, and how can they be overcome?'.

Once completed, please send to engineering@swansea.ac.uk with your name and UCAS application number.

Deadline is 31st August 2017.

Women in Engineering & Sports Science MSc / MSc by Research Scholarship

Key Information

The College of Engineering was awarded an Athena SWAN Bronze Award in October 2016 due to our commitment to advancing women’s careers in STEMM academia and working towards gender balance in the workplace in STEMM industries.

To celebrate this, we are awarding one Full Tuition Fees Scholarship to female students enrolling on one of our Engineering MSc programmes, or Sport and Exercise Science MSc by Research programmes.

Eligibility

You must be a UK/EU student and have, or expect to achieve, a minimum 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent).

You must hold an offer to study on an eligible master’s course at Swansea University from September 2017. Programmes commencing in January, April and July 2017 are not eligible.

How to Apply

You will need to apply for the ‘100 Swansea University Master’s Scholarships’, as per the terms and conditions here. Once you have done this, please email engineering@swansea.ac.uk and include:

  • Your student number
  • Confirmation that you have applied for a ‘100..’ scholarship
  • Your CV
  • One A4 page of no more than 500 words, entitled: My Future in Engineering

Engineering & Sports Science Excellence Scholarships (MSc / MSc by Research)

Key Information

The College of Engineering will be awarding a limited number of Full Tuition Fees Scholarships to students with First Class (Hons) degrees enrolling on one of our Engineering MSc programmes, or Sport and Exercise Science MSc by Research programmes.

Eligibility

You must be a UK/EU student and have, or expect to achieve, a First Class honours degree (or equivalent).

You must hold an offer to study on an eligible master’s course at Swansea University from September 2017. Programmes commencing in January, April and July 2017 are not eligible.

How to Apply

You will need to apply for the ‘100 Swansea University Master’s Scholarships’, as per the terms and conditions here. Once you have done this, please email engineering@swansea.ac.uk and include your student number.

Please note that applications close 21st July 2017 and these scholarships are competitive, so please apply as soon as possible.

Zienk. PhD Scholarships

The highly prestigious Zienkiewicz Scholarships are reserved for top calibre students (outstanding academic performance with a minimum of a First Class Honours Degree or equivalent, IELTS at 7.0 or equivalent and ideally a Masters Degree and/or research experience) and awards will be allocated on a competitive basis.
