The Swansea Employability Academy (SEA) provides a network for linking students with employers - ranging from employer talks and workshops through to student led networking events. The Academy supports Swansea University students at each stage of their journey towards a graduate career - from coordinating professional careers advice, managing a range of placement schemes and ensuring face-to-face & online support, to providing guidance for making informed career choices and preparing for interviews.
SEA, informed by employer membership of its strategy board, supports employer networking opportunities and the development and promotion of graduate opportunities. These include a range of meaningful placements, from work tasters, match-funded 4-week placements (which can take place any time of year) to 3-month graduate internships (again, match funding is available for a number of these internships).
Swansea Employability Academy was delighted to present the Young Business Person Award at the South Wales Evening Post & Swansea Bay Business Life Business Awards 2016 to Alex O'Brien of A19 Secure Solutions, an Economics graduate of Swansea University.
The award was presented at a ceremony at the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea on Thursday 3rd of March by Dr Jon Howden-Evans head of the Swansea Employability Academy who said "It was great to be part of this event celebrating the success of businesses in the Swansea Bay Region. To see so many awards going to graduates and businesses with links to Swansea University is testament to the talent of our staff, and the dedication and support provided."
