Travelling to Swansea

Swansea is well connected to a number of international airports, with direct intercity trains from London Paddington taking approximately three hours. The city is also on a direct railway line for Bristol and Cardiff International airports.

Cardiff

Cardiff Airport is the airport closest to Swansea. There is no direct bus to Swansea: however, a shuttle bus service is available for passengers, which connects with all trains to carry passengers on the short journey between the airport terminal and Cardiff railway station, taking approximately 5-10 minutes. From Cardiff station, there is a regular train and X10 coach service to Swansea. A rail link also connects Rhoose Cardiff International Airport Station to Cardiff Central and Bridgend.

Trains run every hour from Monday to Saturday and every two hours on Sundays.

Trains from Bridgend to Swansea leave at least every hour and take approximately 40 minutes.

Bristol

Trains from Bristol Temple Meads to Swansea leave at least every hour and take approximately 2 hours.

London Heathrow

The National Express coach company has a direct bus service to Swansea from Heathrow Airport. This is the cheapest and easiest way to travel. Arriving At Swansea

There is a taxi rank outside Swansea Train via the right hand exit after the ticket barriers. There is a taxi rank outside Swansea Bus Station to the right of the coach stops. You can also call a taxi to pick you up: many students use Yellow Cabs +44 1792 644446 and Data Cabs +44 1792 474747

Arriving At Other Airports (London Luton, London Stansted and London Gatwick)

Certain airlines including budget airlines like Easyjet and RyanAir also use London Luton, London Stansted and London Gatwick airports. If you arrive at these airports, you will need to travel to London Paddington before taking the train to Swansea.

London Luton

A shuttle bus service operates to and from Luton Airport Parkway Station. This is normally a 10 minute trip from the airport terminal building. The service runs every ten minutes between 05:00 and midnight and also connects with all trains calling at Luton Airport Parkway overnight,

From Luton Parkway Station take any train to London St Pancras station.

From St Pancras Station take the London Underground Circle or Hammersmith and City lines (in the direction of Hammersmith) to London Paddington Station.

London Stansted

The Stansted Express runs every 15 minutes and reaches London Liverpool Street in 46 minutes. Trains depart from Stansted Airport rail station, situated directly below the terminal.

From Liverpool Street station take the London Underground Circle or Hammersmith and City lines (in the direction of Hammersmith) to London Paddington Station.

London Gatwick

 

 

The Gatwick Express is a non-stop train service to London Victoria station which runs every 15 minutes with a journey time of 30 minutes.

From London Victoria take the London Underground Circle Line (in the direction of High Street Kensington) to London Paddington Station.
