CELTA gives you the starter qualification to get your first professional job as a teacher of English to adults. It gives you the skills, knowledge and practical teaching experience you need to succeed as a beginning teacher, and the confidence to continue to develop and learn as a teacher.

Why teach English abroad? Well, for a start you get the opportunities that few tourists get – to live and work in a country of your choice, doing a professional job and learning about that country and its culture in ways impossible on a flying visit. As you grow professionally you can work in other places of your choice, in increasingly more responsible roles. Some limited opportunities are available if you want to work in the UK.
