Swansea University's museum of Egyptian Antiquities, The Egypt Centre, is one of the only museums in the country that is entirely run by young people on a Saturday! Without the hard work and dedication of our 'Nubies' we would not be able to run on a Saturday.
Are you what we are looking for?
Yes!
We are looking for any young people between the ages of 
10 and
18. You will need to be enthusiastic and enjoy learning about Egypt and museums.
You should like to work with others and meeting people from all over the world.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to volunteer as long as they are willing to have
fun and like working with different people.
If you are over 16, we will need to have one reference for you.
The Egypt Centre specialises in working with young people of different abilities, if you have any queries, or concerns, please talk to Ashleigh, the Volunteer Manager.
Volunteering at the Egypt Centre is fun! As a volunteer here you will be a gallery assistant. You will work in our galleries supervising them, giving guided tours and helping visitors with our hands-on activities. You will learn all about Egypt and museums and tell our visitors and other volunteers about it. Occasionally Nubie volunteers will also get the chance to actually handle some of the objects in the cases!
When and How often can I volunteer?
The young Volunteer programme runs on a Saturday 10am-4pm. You must be able to commit to 3 hours every fortnight as a minimum within our work shifts.

All you have to do is fill in the Nubie application form, and the consent form, and post it to the Volunteer Manager. For application forms, please click the link below
