Millennium Volunteers is a UK wide initiative designed to promote and recognise volunteering among young people age 16-24.
In order to become a Millennium Volunteer you must first register as an Adult or Young Volunteer, and state you wish to become a Millennium Volunteer.
The Millennium Volunteers programme aims to
Offer challenging and interesting volunteering opportunities for all young people
Enable young people to acquire new skills and knowledge and develop personally
Increase recognition of volunteering by young people
Set a standard of volunteering opportunities in Wales
Make a positive impact in local communities
Encourage ownership of the programme by young people.
What does it involve at the Egypt Centre?
The
young person makes a commitment to volunteer for 200 hours within 12-15
months.
The young person commits to doing a project within the Egypt Centre.
The young person commits to attending training sessions at the Egypt Centre.

What will you get back?
A chance to put a nationally recognised scheme on your CV
The satisfaction of working in a worthwhile voluntary organisation
certificates of recognition for 50, 100 and 200 hours. for 200 hours you will receive an award of excellence from the 1st minister.
The support of a full time volunteer manager
Development of your personal skills
Valuable work experience
2 free trips - one to Bristol in November and one to London in February.
Free tea/coffee and refreshments!
Accredited training worth an A level.
How do I get involved?
Its simple. If you are already a volunteer, see Ashleigh and she will register you.
If you are interested in volunteering here for this scheme, you
need to apply as a volunteer 1st - mention on your application form you are
interested in being a millennium volunteer and Ashleigh will register you when
you 1st start.
