Who was L.Sgt. Johnson?

• His full name was James Mason Johnson
• We know he was a Carmarthen man who possibly lived in Bridge Street (the front of a photograph album in which his slides are contained has the address: c/o Mr. Davies 13 Bridge Street)
• Before joining the army he worked as a cabinet maker for John Thresh and Company Carmarthen
• He first joined the army in March 1914 and his military number was 448139
• He was a member of the 436 Welsh Field Company
• He was a Lance Sergeant stationed in Egypt in 1917
• He was transferred into the reserves in July 1919 aged 27 years following a knee injury sustained while on duty

Among his slides there are several which show the same man. We wonder if this is L.Sgt. Johnson?

Is this him in the front on the felucca?
