Target Audience

New to role or new to Swansea Professional Services line managers at Grade 7 and above


Members of the HR team will take you through the basics of everything you need to know in your role as Line Manager, in order to maximise individual and team performance at Swansea University. 

The programme is designed to follow best practice from initial staff recruitment and induction, right through to supporting performance in the workplace.

New line managers are expected to attend the course as soon as possible following their move into a management role. 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of these modules delegates will:

  • have a clear understanding of the role, responsibilities and expectations of someone with line management responsibilities at Swansea
  • be aware of support available to them as line managers
  • practice the role of manager as coach in order to maximise individual and team performance
  • meet other staff and build networks
