Swansea's Leadership Framework sets out a clear intention to build and strengthen a culture which uses a coaching approach to leadership and management. The aim is to support all leaders and managers to develop a coaching style of leadership and to embed a coaching approach into their everyday interactions with people, supporting growth, clarity of outcomes and engagement.
Coaching is a purposeful conversation that enables an individual to set clear outcomes and seek solutions. It provides an opportunity for reflection, increases self awareness, creativity, clarity of thought and personal growth.
Swansea is committed to using coaching as a development approach across the Institution. The development of coaching skills through leadership modules, such as 'Using a Coaching Style to Lead' is the first step in achieving a coaching culture.
