Trosolwg Cwrs

O’r Croesgadau i’r Rhyfel Oer ac o’r Dadeni i Chwyldrowyr Rwsia, cewch ddarganfod holl amrywiaeth hanes ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe. Mae gan ein staff gryfder arbennig yn hanes syniadaeth wleidyddol, lles a gwrthdaro, hanes morol ac imperialaidd, rhywedd a rhywioldeb, hanes crefydd, gwyddoniaeth a meddygaeth, a theithio a mudo. Yn ddiweddar cafodd Hanes sgôr boddhad cyffredinol rhagorol, 94%, yn yr Arolwg Cenedlaethol o Fyfyrwyr (NSS).

Addysgu ac Asesu

Mae’r cwrs gradd wedi ei fapio’n ofalus, o ran cynnwys pob modiwl ac o ran y sgiliau y bydd ein myfyrwyr yn eu datblygu.  Ceir ystod eang o ddulliau asesu: cyflwyniadau, trafodaethau, creu podlediadau, creu tudalennau gwe, projectau, arholiadau a thraethodau.

Nodweddion Allweddol

  • Gall myfyrwyr ddewis modiwl taith astudio neu brosiect maes.
  • Bydd y myfyrwyr yn treulio’r drydedd flwyddyn dramor yn Ewrop neu yn UDA.
  • Yn eu blwyddyn olaf bydd y myfyrwyr yn dewis modiwl ‘pwnc arbennig’, gan ganolbwyntio ar destun a chwblhau traethawd estynedig.
  • Mae gan ein myfyrwyr mentor academaidd sy’n rhoi cefnogaeth fugeiliol ac arweiniad ar faterion a all effeithio ar eu lles, eu presenoldeb a’u cynnydd yn ystod eu cyfnod yn y Brifysgol.
  • Mae cymdeithas y myfyrwyr Hanes yn trefnu digwyddiadau cymdeithasol a diwylliannol, ac mae wedi ennill gwobrau lawer am y digwyddiad gorau neu’r gymdeithas orau. Dilynwch ni ar Twitter: @SUHistSoc.

Barn ein myfyrwyr

"Dewisais astudio Hanes ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe gan mai dyma un o ddinasoedd mwyaf bywiog Cymru gydag amryw o adnoddau ar gael y tu hwnt i gampws y Brifysgol, o Ganolfan Chwaraeon arbennig i draeth a golygfeydd prydferth. Y peth gorau am astudio yn Abertawe yw'r adnoddau defnyddiol, er enghraifft mae Archifau Richard Burton yn llyfrgell y brifysgol ac Amgueddfa Genedlaethol y Glannau yng nghanol y ddinas, mae cael mynediad at adnoddau’r rhain yn hanfodol ar gyfer fy ngradd Hanes!"

Alys, BA Hanes

“Fe wnes i raddio gyda gradd Anrhydedd Dosbarth Cyntaf mewn Hanes o Brifysgol Abertawe. Fy nhair blynedd ymhlith yr israddedigion yno oedd blynyddoedd mwyaf difyr fy mywyd hyd yma! Wrth edrych yn ôl, roedd y radd BA yn cyflawni fy holl obeithion. Fe wnes i fwynhau’r holl fodiwlau, oedd i gyd yn ddiddorol iawn, ac roedd amrywiaeth gwych ar gael. Roedd darlithwyr, tiwtoriaid a holl aelodau’r adran Hanes hefyd yn eithriadol o gyfeillgar a bob amser yn barod i helpu. Dyna pam y penderfynais i mewn dim o dro mai yn Abertawe yr oeddwn am barhau â’m hastudiaethau. Bellach rwy’n astudio ar gyfer MA mewn Hanes Modern Cynnar, ac rwy’n gobeithio symud ymlaen i PhD.”
