Estates Administration

This section provides clerical and administrative support to all sections of Estates, and aims to respond to queries from all sources in a timely and efficient manner.

Richard Austin Office Manager extn. 5958, manages the department's Administration. The main services provided to university departments are:

Helpdesk

This facility provides the first point of contact for our customers who wish to report general maintenance problems, and also to request minor improvement works. The department calls upon university employed maintenance staff as well as specialist external contractors to undertake all maintenance works.

Categories of staff and associates who may be eligible for an ID Card including various functions

ID Cards

Multi-function Identification cards are currently issued to the following staff

  • Permanent and fixed-term staff
  • Visiting staff and students
  • Associate staff such as Digital technium, Students' Union and Wales National Pool Swansea
  • Partner Contractors

Depending on individual requirements, the cards may also be used for

  • Library borrowing
  • Building access
  • Car park access
  • Timeware (Time & Attendance system)

You will need a letter of appointment or departmental authorisation before an ID Card can be issued. Lost or damaged cards (through mis-use) will incur a fee of £5 for replacement, unless certain circumstances prevail. Car Parking

A valid permit must be purchased and displayed by all staff and associates who wish to park on campus.  See  for further information on eligibilty, charges, conditions of issue and how to apply.

 may be reserved for VIP and Conference/Seminar guests only.  A pay and display car park is available for all other visitors.


Car Sharing Scheme 2009/10

To reduce the environmental impact of travelling to work and to ease the pressure on the limited parking spaces on the Singleton campus, the University offers a 50% discount on the current parking permit charges for University staff who car share. The requirements are as follows:

  1. Applicants must regularly car share with one or more members of staff
  2. All sharers must apply for a parking permit, each will be entitled to the discount
  3. All sharers must complete a Declaration form
  4. All sharers must be registered with the Swwitch2Share website

On receipt of the completed  Car Share Declaration 10-11 the discount will be applied.
