Application Services is responsible for providing overall system support for the , , Student Records System (SITS), , , and Applications. This involves the co-ordination of the production activities for the applications, the monitoring of the applications to ensure data integrity and the availability of the systems, as well as the implementation of the application upgrades. The tasks of this team involves working closely with internal users and outside organisations, to understand business needs and process flow and to define technical, clerical and operational/procedural criteria to be used in the acquisition and/or the building of systems and/or applications. The software applications are delivered at the users PC either as client installation or via the Web based Intranet.
Members of this group take responsibility for the technical design, development, testing & support of the administrative systems. They provide technical support for the data returns to HESA, HEFCW, University of Wales and DfES along with Development projects for External Grants with Careers. They distribute information to University sub-systems for data integrity and validation, and in addition to this they develop an integration of facilities for administration and academic departments. This team can be found in the Taliesin Building, on the second floor, in Room 201.
