Swansea University's Bay Campus

We are delighted to be hosting COUP 2017 at Swansea University's Bay Campus.

The brand new campus is located on a 65 acre former BP site on the eastern approach into Swansea.  The £450m investment project which forms part of the University’s ambitious campus development expansion programme covering both its beachfront campuses, is home to the University’s College of Engineering and School of Management and makes Swansea one of the few UK universities to have direct access onto a beach!

Location of COUP 2017

The Great Hall complex will provide the key venue for COUP 2017.

Talks and breakout sessions will all be located on the ground floor of the Great Hall building and the Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium on the first floor will provide the venue for the Gala dinner.

The exhibition will be located on Margam Square; a short walk to the East of the Great Hall.

About The Great Hall

At the heart of the Bay Campus is the iconic Great Hall. The £32m facility was designed by world-renowned architect Dr Demitri Porphyrios and provides a venue in which the local and University communities can come together to socialise, enjoy cultural performances and take part in conferences and events of all kinds.

The key space within Swansea University’s impressive Great Hall complex is the magnificent 700-seat Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium; complete with flexible staging and international-standard acoustics, as well as state-of-the-art audio visual technology.  All the seating in the auditorium retracts, allowing the room to be converted into a large, flat-floor space which is perfect for gala dinners for up to 300 people and large exhibitions.

Running alongside the Sir Stanley Clarke Auditorium are two light-filled galleries leading to a gorgeous café bar and restaurant which offers a delightful menu from tapas, platters and light bites through to three course Sunday lunches on Sundays.  The Great Hall Café Bar and Restaurant opens out onto a beautiful balcony area which gives breathtaking views over the whole of Swansea Bay.

On the floor below the auditorium, the Great Hall houses three brand new, spacious tiered lecture theatres and a series of smaller flat floor meeting rooms; all are equipped with state-of-the-art AV equipment.
