At campus catering, we pride ourselves on being a forward-thinking, customer-oriented and sustainable catering service.
Our team of professional catering specialists bringing together a vast amount of catering industry experience from across the UK.
We strive to create good, nutritious food at reasonable prices using the finest, freshest, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. At the same time, we want to reduce our environmental impact, promote animal welfare and contribute to the local economy as much as possible.
Each year we showcase the best seasonal and local produce via our annual Welcome to Wales food festival. As part of our on-going commitment to sustainable catering we have the Fulton House herb planters, polytunnels and work with Discovery to produce the Veg Box and food co-operative. We also provide free drinking water across all food and beverage outlets on both Singleton and Bay campuses.
Campus catering at Swansea University takes into account environmental, ethical and social considerations into the products and services we provide. We work with our suppliers and contractors to ensure that our activities contribute to local economies and sustainable livelihoods, avoid unnecessary negative environmental impacts, support animal welfare and provide health and social benefits. We also ensure that waste is handled in a sustainable manner like through our food recycling service.
Our team ensures tender specifications for food suppliers include requirements for service and supply in line with TUCO sustainability and environmental policies. We also strive to ensure that smaller local suppliers are not discriminated against in the procurement process and in our specifications. We use MSC approved suppliers wherever possible and seek full MSC certification by March 2017.
