FS4B Graduate Start Up Support - Mentoring

FS4B Graduate Start Up Support aims to assist *graduates in starting up new businesses in Wales that demonstrate growth potential.

Working closely with Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) Institutions, this service will deliver pre and post start 1-2-1 coaching and mentoring.

FS4B Graduate Start Up Support

  • Graduates are offered up to 6 months pre-start and 12 months post-start of 1-2-1 coaching and mentoring and attendance at modular workshops.
  • To access support, four of the criteria outlined in the table below must be met including, A, B & C which are mandatory.
  • Post-start applicants must have been trading for fewer than 6 months to qualify and will receive support for the number of months remaining until their 1st anniversary of trading.
  • Graduates who do not qualify for Graduate Start Up Support can access support from the mainstream FS4B Business Start Up service.

*NOTE:  The term 'Graduates' is defined as:  Undergraduates in their final year of study and those who have graduated at NVQ Level 4 or above from any FE institution within the past 5 years.  N.B.  This definition may be subject to periodic revision.

FS4B Graduate Start Up Bursary

  • A discretionary Graduate Start Up bursary is available for businesses that are receiving Graduate Start Up Support that demonstrate strong growth potential.
  • Four of the criteria outlined in the table below must be met including A, B and C which are mandatory.
  • Mentors will assist clients in submitting an application for the bursary award, which will be assessed using a weighted scoring system.
