Institute for Entrepreneurship and Leadership
The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Leadership (IfEL) provide focus and academic and administrative support for the delivery of "executive" and leadership development programmes, focused on practitioner managers and business leaders with particular emphasis on those in SMEs, based at Swansea University.
The Institute supports and develops the growing entrepreneurship and enterprise skills development work for students going on in the university and currently managed from within the School of Business and Economics, and to seek to develop and deepen links between these activities and the regional business community.
Positioning itself as a hub for the development of the regional knowledge economy is a critical element of the School and University's current strategic approach. As the university seeks to engage with and support local business, particularly those in the six WAG "leading sectors" (Economic Renewal Programme, 2010), the role of IfEL is to promote the development of management and leadership skills, and appropriate skills development activity for students, to complement the scientific and technical support that the University can provide.
