Engineering Foundation Degrees - FdEng
The College of Engineering at Swansea University is recognised internationally for its degree programmes, research and the contribution it makes to the economy of the region.
At present there are Foundation Degrees being run through Gower College, NPTC Group of Colleges and Pembrokeshire College in Mechanical Engineering; Electrical/Electronic Engineering; Electrical and Power Systems Engineering; Instrumentation Electronics; Process Operations and Maintenance. For more details see the website here.
These FdEng. courses were made possible by support from the European Social Fund (ESF) through the Welsh Government. They are validated and accredited by Swansea University.
The current programme of ESF support is coming to an end and CUSP is working to secure funding for future programmes.
Foundation degrees are designed to offer opportunities for employees working in the engineering sector in South and South-West Wales. Courses are part-time over two years, with a strong workbased learning element designed to meet the needs of industry.
Swansea University is also working with Coleg Cambria to provide a Foundation Degree in Aerospace Engineering for Airbus Higher Apprentices.
