Epidemiologist - Dr Rhys Pockett BSc (Hons), MPH
Rhys received his BSc (Hons) from Southampton Institute of Higher Education in Maritime Environmental Science in 1998, before graduating from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2002 with a Master of Public Health (MPH). Initially employed by the department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Wales College of Medicine, developing the All Wales Injuries Surveillance System (AWISS), he later moved to the newly developed National Public Health Service for Wales (NPHS) - continuing his role with injury surveillance, database management, and health information analysis. Rhys has also held honorary positions within the University of Wales College of Medicine, the University of Wales Swansea, and Health Solutions Wales (HSW), and has presented research locally, nationally, and internationally.
Before joining SCHE, Rhys worked at the Cardiff Research Consortium (CRC) Ltd from early 2007 as an epidemiologist, utilising his expertise in databases and health information analysis.
