War and Society at Swansea is a unique subject that utilizes the range of expertise in the Arts and Humanities and the research strengths of the Callaghan Centre for the Study of Conflict, Power and Empire. The programs offer an historical range which spans the ancient world to the modern, tracing lines of connection and influence across the ages. Running parallel with the traditional military/strategic exploration of war, the programme also examines the societies that wage it, so placing this most spectacular of historic events in its various human contexts.
