Welsh for Postgraduates

Prominent scholars, such as Henry Lewis, D. Ellis Evans and Hywel Teifi Edwards, have been professors at the Department of Welsh at Swansea University. The results of the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) placed the Department of Welsh at Swansea first among the Welsh institutions which submitted their research to the Celtic Studies sub-panel, and in second place in the UK. The results show that 100 per cent of the research of the Department of Welsh at Swansea is of international quality or above. Our staff are experts in fields which include modern and medieval literature, literary criticism, editing medieval and modern texts, bilingualism and language planning, drama and creative writing.
