Research topics currently being pursued by postgraduates (M.Phil. and PhD) working under the umbrella of the Richard Burton Centre include: children and the poor law in Swansea, c.1850-1914, the political career of D. A. Thomas (Viscount Rhondda), Welsh miners and tunnelling companies on the Western Front, 1914-18, the 38th (Welsh) Division on the Western Front, 1916-18, Wales and the sexual revolution of the 1960s.
