Media Studies Degree Programmes

At Swansea's seaside campus, explore the history, theory and practice of media, film, journalism, digital publishing, social networking and public relations. Are you interested in the role and influence of media in society? If the answer to the above question is yes, then you may be interested in the Media Studies degree programmes at Swansea University.

The Media Studies programme at Swansea University has distinct pathways in media, film, public relations, journalism and practical media. The attraction of these courses is based on the way in which theory and practice are combined, allowing students considerable choice and the opportunity to study in areas that interest them most.

Media Studies is constantly increasing and strengthening its industry links which often provide on-campus workshops or opportunities of work placements for our students.  Practical projects are included in modules where students have the opportunity to demonstrate skills in media practice, for instance by designing a website, making a video, or submitting a portfolio of journalism.

Have a look at the interview video  where Emma Connolly talks about her project on "Homeless People", Abigail Costin talks about "OCD" and Alice Brooks talks about her music video.  Graham Johnson and Ross Clark are filming the interview.  Also, watch the amazing video below Danielle Phillips and Kelly-Anne Bradnick produced for the South Wales Evening Post "Fashion Addicts" show.
