Arriving in Swansea

Welcome to Swansea! Below you will find an easy guide to all you need to know to get started. 

Moving in to your Swansea residence

Singleton Park Campus:   ‌

Collect keys from Key Collection marquee outside Residences.

After 5pm, keys will be moved to Preseli Reception for collection. Preseli is open 24 hours.

Hendrefoelan Student Village:

Collect keys from Hendrefoelan Student Village marquee on the sports court.

After 5pm, keys will be moved to House 40 Reception for collection. House 40 will generally be open 24 hours during Arrivals, but if staff have stepped out, they will always leave a notice on the door with a telephone number to contact themselves or the Welfare Wardens.

Bay Campus:

If your arrival / check in date is more than 3 days after the start of your Tenancy, you must contact us to request & receive a Delayed Arrival Reference number (accommodation@swansea.ac.uk )

Failure to do this, even where a Tenancy Agreement has been accepted, may result in the room being cancelled and offered to an incoming student until such time you will be financially liable for the room and any additional administration charges.

Collecting your student ID card

Collecting your student ID card triggers your first student loan payment.

We've got everything from beach trips to Balls! Your Union has organised a packed programme of events to help you settle in to the next stage of your life. We're here to help you make the most of your time in Swansea, not only on campus but across the city and county. You can find out more about what we're planning on our website, where you'll also be able to buy your Freshers package and bus pass.

Attend College Induction events

Induction banner

  • Attend an induction talk about your studies, tutors, module selection, health and safety, IT facilities and attending other events during the week.
  • Receive your course materials, for example, a timetable and departmental handbook.
  • If you need to change your module selection, ask staff for advice before signing up for a module. By the start of term you should have chosen modules totalling 120 credits.
  • Browse your College subject area induction events, dates and times
