"One of my favourite responsibilities as Vice-Chancellor is welcoming new students. We have a programme of events to help you discover the support and opportunities at Swansea University. I hope the next few years will be some of your happiest; they are crucial in your academic, personal, and professional development."
"Leave Swansea with good degrees and fully prepared to make the best of life, building upon a rich variety of friendships and experiences. I encourage you to access support when you need it and take full advantage of opportunities provided through sport, volunteering, clubs and societies, study abroad, and your Students’ Union."
'First of all, welcome! Welcome to beautiful Swansea; welcome to your new best friends, unpredictable weather and a city that is unarguably unique. Welcome to the best few years of your life.
You've made the right choice in choosing Swansea University, one that you will not regret and now that you're getting here there's lots more choices to make. Here at Swansea University Students' Union we're all about you having the best time at University. My advice for you is this - make the most of it. Join a society, join a sports club, leave your bedroom and chat to people in the kitchen, go to that Freshers event you're not sure about. Whatever you do - enjoy yourself and make friends with everyone.'
