Morgan's Hotel

Morgan's Hotel offers a 10% reduction on the room rate for alumni.

Morgan's dates from 1902 when the building was completed for the port authority. The Grade II listed building is now a four star hotel for today, unashamedly modern, yet wrapped in a fine building redolent of yesterday. Along with the 20 individual bedrooms, two restaurants and pair of bars there is a meeting room with state of the art technology and Morgan's Deck - the only place to light up as the rest of the hotel is non-smoking. Swansea University Library

Reference only

Swansea University’s Libraries are open to visitors for reference access. There are no formalities or charges for this service.

Swansea University is a member of a number of reciprocal borrowing schemes which allow visitors to borrow books such as the ‘Open to All’ scheme.

Open to All

The ‘Open to All’ scheme allows any current members of Swansea or Neath Port Talbot public library services to have free borrowing access at Swansea University, Swansea Metropolitan, Swansea College, Neath Port Talbot College or Gorseinon College.

Please visit your nearest public library branch and join the library if you are not already a member. Ask for an Open to All passport stating which college or higher education library you want to join. Take the passport along to your chosen library and they will register you as a borrower.

This scheme is managed by ATLIS (Access to Libraries in Swansea Bay) and CyMAL (Museum Archives and Libraries Wales).

External borrowing

If you do not qualify for free membership of Swansea University’s library, alumni can obtain a borrower’s card for an annual charge of £25 (this is a 50% reduction on the cost for the general public).

You may borrow up to 5 items at a time (excluding short loan material). Books are normally issued for 2 weeks; periodicals are issued for one day and are not renewable.

Sport Centre

Swansea University’s Sport Centre continues to offer discounted membership rates for graduates. The Sports Centre boasts a fully equipped Uni-Gym with over 80 stations; there are also television screens with a range of programmes, digital radio and air conditioning. Fitness Assessments and exercise programmes are available.

In addition, independent chartered physiotherapists are based at the facilities to help you with sports injuries and rehabilitation in the physiotherapy clinic. A Sports Therapy service is also available. There is also a multi-purpose sports hall, and squash courts. Outdoor facilities include tennis courts, rugby, football, lacrosse and cricket pitches. These are located at the Sports Centre and at Fairwood playing fields on the Gower. Near the Sports Centre at Sketty Lane there are also two water based Astroturf pitches, an Indoor Athletics Training Centre and an eight-lane outdoor Athletics Track. The facilities can be booked for events by contacting the Sports Centre.
