Fifty Year Reunion
Fifty year reunion planned
1966 - England win the world cup and later in the year a number of innocent (relatively!) young people start studying at the University of Wales, Swansea.
50 years on requires a celebration.
Alumni Mike Parker and Murray Thomson have been planning this celebratory event and invite former students who also started in 1966 to join in this celebration which will be held on the weekend of 14-16 October 2016. If appropriate, bring a friend/ spouse / partner.
The main event will be a dinner on the Saturday night, October 15th, at the Marriott Hotel on Swansea Bay.
Also arranged is an optional tour of both Singleton Campus and the new Bay campus which will take place on the morning of the 15th.
Mike and Murray have negotiated a special accommodation rate for the Friday and Saturday nights at the Swansea Marriott - which you can access/book by clicking below.
The room rates are £99.00 for a double and £89.00 for a single.
Of course there are many other places to stay in and around the city which you may prefer to select. A list of accommodation can be found on the Visit Swansea Bay website by clicking here.
The evening meal is a fixed price for a 3-course meal (drinks extra) of £28. The menu choices are as follows:
Starters: Belly pork roulette/ leek and potato soup/ goats cheese bruschetta.
Mains: Lamb rump/ spinach and ricotta ravioli/ parma ham wrapped chicken.
Desserts: Cherry Almond Tart, sticky toffee pudding and peach melba brûlée.
Final numbers, campus tour option and menu choices for the evening meal are required before 30th March.
Please contact the Development and Alumni Relations Office at DARO@swansea.ac.uk or telephone 01792 295156 if you are interested in attending and your details will be passed on to the organisers Mike and Murray.
