Arrival & Key Collection Information

Key Collection is from Monday to Friday 10 - 4 (excluding bank holidays). 

Please bring your Key Collection Sheet in order to collect your keys.  You can print this off from your Accommodation Account at any time after you have accepted your offer of accommodation.

Arriving outside of the above times?

  • If your arrival / check in date is more than 3 days after the start of your Tenancy you must contact us to request & receive a Delayed Arrival Reference number accommodation@swansea.ac.uk 
  • Failure to do this, even where a Tenancy Agreement has been accepted, may result in the room being cancelled and offered to an incoming student until such time you will be financially liable for the room and any additional administration charges.

Think about the following things for arrival at your site and leave time to enable you to do them:

  • Leave plenty of time to take stops and refreshments throughout your journey.
  • When you arrive you will need to collect your key, unload the car and set your room up.
  • You may then want to go shopping to pick up some essentials.
  • Plan what you NEED to do and what can be done the following day.

By road

  • Leave the M4 at Junction 42 (signposted Swansea A483) where the slip road will bring you onto Fabian Way.
  • At the first roundabout (1.1 miles) take the second exit continuing west (the first exit is a no through road).
  • Continue straight across the junction with traffic lights (Bay Studio’s on right). Turn left at the next set of traffic lights, passing the main Bay Campus entrance on your right.

By Train, Bus or Coach

If you are arriving in Swansea by train, a regular and reliable bus service runs from Swansea railway station to the Quadrant Bus Station in the city centre.  

If you are arriving in Swansea by bus/coach to the Quadrant Bus Station, the 2 campuses are served by a range of local bus services – please see the First Cymru website for full details.

Bus number 8 departs from the Quadrant Bus Station for the Bay Campus every 15 minutes.

Beck House

The postcode for Beck House for Satnav users is SA2 0NF.

By road

  • Exit the M4 at Junction 47 (signposted A483/A48). At the roundabout take the third exit onto the A483.
  • At the roundabout take the first exit and continue on the A483.
  • Continue straight along the road, passing the Tesco Extra and the retail park. Continue straight ahead through the next two sets of traffic lights.
  • At the third set of traffic lights (opposite the Marquis Arms Pub) turn right (onto Station Road).
  • Continue straight along the A4216 (Cockett Road).
  • Slight left onto Glanmor Road then sharp right onto Sketty Road / A4118 and Beck House is on your right.

By road

If approaching from the West 

  • Exit the M4 at Junction 47 (signposted A483/A48). At the roundabout take the third exit onto the A483.
  • At the roundabout take the first exit and continue on the A483.
  • Continue straight along the road, passing the Tesco Extra and the retail park. Continue straight ahead through the next two sets of traffic lights.
  • At the third set of traffic lights (opposite the Marquis Arms Pub) turn right (onto Station Road).
  • Continue straight along the A4216 (Cockett Road).
  • Go straight ahead at the first mini-roundabout, and then right onto Vivian Road at the mini-roundabout immediately afterwards.
  • Continue along the A4216 (Vivian Road). At the traffic lights by the Vivian Pub continue straight ahead. At the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Sketty Park Road.
  • At the roundabout take the first exit onto Sketty Lane (A4216).
  • Continue past Singleton Hospital and the Wales National Pool and turn left onto Mumbles Road (A4067) at the traffic lights Singleton Park Campus on your left.


If approaching from the East

  • Leave the M4 at Junction 42 (signposted Swansea A483) where the slip road will bring you onto Fabian Way.
  • At the first roundabout take the second exit continuing west (the first exit is a no through road), and continue straight ahead, passing Swansea University’s new Bay Campus on your right. Continue straight across the junction with traffic lights. Continue straight across the next junction with traffic lights (Swansea Docks to the left and Park and Ride car park to the right).
  • Go straight across the junction with traffic lights onto the bridge over the River Tawe (A4067) at the southern margin of the city centre.
  • Pass Sainsbury's supermarket on your left and Swansea Museum again on the left.  Continuing straight ahead, pass the large Tesco supermarket on your right.
  • Continue straight through the traffic lights along the coast road (Oystermouth Road, A4067) towards Mumbles, passing a stretch of bed and breakfast hotels and the Bay View public house on your right.
  • After the next set of traffic lights, make sure you are in the outside lane of the dual carriageway.
  • Pass St Helen's Rugby Ground on Oystermouth Road on your right.
  • Continue through the next junction. The entrance to the Singleton Park Campus is a right turn at the next set of traffic lights, with a dedicated filter arrow.

Paying for Accommodation

Paying for Accommodation

You can view your account on-line anytime through your university account: https://intranet.swan.ac.uk/login 

Ways to Pay:

  • Termly payments through your Intranet Account.
  • In Full in Advance for the duration fo the contract.
  • Termly Direct Debit (Please note Direct Debits must be submitted a minimum of 3 weeks prior to payment due date).

You will need to pay by the dates set out in your Tenancy Agreement. 

  • Late payments carry an administration charge of £50.00. If you experience problems paying please contact us prior to the payment date to avoid these additional charges!
  • You will receive a Statement of Account 7 days before the payment due date. 
  • Statements will always be sent to the student university email address, even if the payment is set up by a Parent/Guardian.

Loans,Funding & Finance

Student Finance

  • Not sure how to pay for uni, or how you’ll cope during your studies? Don’t worry, there’s a range of finance and support available.
  • Uni is a big investment, so you may need a student loan from one of the regional student finance organisations.
  • They advise you to apply by May. Please check with the organisation for deadlines.
  • You might be eligible for additional funding from other organisations too.
  • You may be able to borrow money to help pay for university or college tuition fees and to help with living costs.
  • Make sure you apply for any funding that you may be eligible for.

Reservation Deposits

Reservation Deposits

  • A Reservation Deposit of £350.00 is payable on acceptance of your offer of accommodation.
  • The deposit is per person and needs to be paid within 7 days of the offer of accommodation.
  • You will only be asked to pay a Reservation Deposit once you have been offered a place in accommodation.  
  • You will only be offered a place in accommodation once you have been accepted on a course to study at the university. 
  • The Reservation Deposit will be deducted from your final term's payment of rent.
  • Please do not pay a deposit if you wish to pay for your accommodation in full. 
  • Unfortunately, we cannot secure accommodation without the Reservation Deposit.
