The Singleton Campus Residences offer the convenience of being close to both the academic, 24 hour library facilities, and social life of the campus, including DV8 Bar in Fulton House and the facilities of the Students Union. Social activities at the residences are arranged through the SRC (Student Resident's Committees) for which a small subscription is paid by all residents. Any student has the opportunity to get involved with SRC activities. There are part-catered standard rooms, self-catered standards rooms and self -ctered ensuite rooms with a mixture of 36 week contracts (move out over the Easter period) and 40 week contracts that cover the full academic year.

KILVEY & RHOSSILI

• All bedrooms are fitted with an individual mini-fridge.

 

Kilvey and Rhossili provide standard bedrooms with wash-hand basins.   Showers, baths and w.c's are shared. Each floor has an area where snacks can be prepared.  Microwaves, refrigerators and hydro-boilers are also provided. 

The part-catered residence Kilvey is a 10 storey tower block, housing slightly under 200 students and Rhossili is a low-rise residence for 40. These original Campus residences have undergone substantial refurbishment in recent years and all rooms have modern built-in furniture.  Many rooms have views over the bay or across the park. CEFN BRYN, PRESELI, CASWELL, LANGLAND, OXWICH, PENMAEN & HORTON

• Cefn Bryn - 36 & 40 week contract. Shared bathroom & kitchen facilities.  Traditional style layout of 18 rooms per floor.
• Preseli - 40 week contract. Own en-suite & shared kitchen facilities in traditional style layout of 20 rooms per floor.
• Caswell & Langland - 36 week contracts. Own en-suite & shared kitchen in a flat of 8.
• Penmaen - 40 week contracts. Own en-suite & shared kitchen in a flat of 8
• Oxwich & Horton - 40 week contracts. Own en-suite & shared kitchen in a flat of 8 with noise restriction between 11:00pm and 8:00am
   
  

These are 5, 6 and 9 storey residences providing en-suite bedrooms in cluster flats of 8.  Kitchens are equipped with cooker, hob, microwave, kettle and fridge / freezer, as well as dining table and chairs.  Additionally, Penmaen has 16 rooms specially designed for wheelchair users, further increasing Residential Services’ provision for disabled students. HORTON & OXWICH - A QUIETER RESIDENCE

From September 2010 this residence is designated as a quiet residence between the hours of 11:00pm to 8:00am.  Noise and the playing of music is restricted between these hours so that students can enjoy a quieter lifestyle.

POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS

Residential Services is particularly pleased to note that we have been able to make special provision for Postgraduate Students with the two top floors of Horton reserved for 51 week occupation. Each flat shares a well equipped kitchen diner and all rooms have high-speed internet access and a telephone connected to the student residences network.
