LOCAL STUDENTS

Local student should consider very carefully whether they want and will wish to remain in University accommodation as the financial commitment is for the full academic year. Every year there are a number of local students who change their mind about living away from home and request to be released from their contract part way through. The only circumstances under which a student may be released from the contract is if a suitable replacement can be found for the room; frequently, particularly after the first few weeks of term, this is not possible and the student remains liable for all fees for the full length of the agreement.

Local students who make Swansea their Firm choice of University are guaranteed a place in residence in exactly the same way as other students.

However those who are admitted to the University on Insurance offers or via Clearing and live in the greater Swansea area may be asked to remain at home for the first few weeks of session if there is high demand for places in residence.
