Learning and Teaching Committee

The University's Learning and Teaching Committee oversees many aspects of the student experience and learning environment, and leads on the development of innovative and exciting approaches to learning, teaching and assessment.

Academic Standards and Quality Committee

The Academic Standards and Quality Committee is the University’s senior committee with responsibility for ensuring that the quality and standards of awards of the University are protected and maintained.  This committee is supported in this role by four sub-Boards – the Programme Management Board, the Academic Regulations and Cases Board, the Progression and Awards Board and the Collaborative Partnership Board and one committee – the Programme Approval Committee.

Programme Management Board

The role of the Programme Management Board is to manage, review and develop the University’s portfolio of programmes.

Academic Regulations and Cases Board

The role of the Academic Regulations and Cases Board is to oversee the University’s academic regulations, policies and procedures and to ensuring University-wide consistency in the application of these regulations, with particular reference to the quality of learning opportunities and individual student cases.

Progression and Awards Board

The role of the Progression and Awards Board is to oversee the University’s assessment process, confirm award and progression decisions and to ensure that the assessment regulations are applied consistently.

Collaborative Partnerships Board

The role of the Collaborative Partnership Board is to advise the University on all matters related to academic collaborative activities leading to an award/credit of the University.

Programme Approval Committee

The role of the Programme Approval Committee is to consider and make  recommendations for approval for all new programmes and cross-institutional modules and to make recommendations on amendments to existing programmes and cross-institutional modules.
